It’s been 16 years now since I found myself on the Yellow Footprints of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC.
It may sound clichéd, but they seriously took an immature 18-year-old and changed him profoundly.
I may not have decided to make a career of the Marine Corps but the 6 years I spent on active duty were arguably the most important and formative years of my life. Many people who serve leave the military with a bad taste in their mouth but I strongly believe that you must enter with an open mind and laid back attitude and that you get out of it what you put into it.
I have absolutely zero regrets.
89 days until the Marine Corps Marathon!
